After years of being the butt of everyone's joke, Jerry Gergich is finally retiring and leaving the Parks and Recreation department. As such, his coworkers throw him a going-away party in the hopes of giving him a memorable send-off. However, as is typical with the team, things quickly spiral out of control.
At the party, Leslie brings in a special surprise for Jerry – his favourite celebrity, none other than former tennis star Ivan Lendl. However, things go from bad to worse when they realize they got the wrong Ivan – a man who works as a chimney sweep in the neighbouring town. Meanwhile, Chris and Ann decide to use Jerry's retirement party as an opportunity to finally tell everyone their big news, which throws everyone for a loop.
Elsewhere, Tom ends up inviting Jean-Ralphio to Jerry's party, much to everyone's chagrin. While the team is already reacting to the news of Chris and Ann's pregnancy, Jean-Ralphio makes things even more complicated by revealing that he too has a secret. In a moment of surprising vulnerability, Jean-Ralphio admits to Tom that he's in a financial crisis.
Despite all the chaos, things reach a breaking point when news comes that Jerry has been rushed to the hospital. What was supposed to be a fun, light-hearted celebration quickly turns into a sobering reminder of the fragility of life. Everyone rushes to the hospital to be by Jerry's side, but the mood is somber as they wait to hear any updates.
In the end, though, Jerry pulls through and is released from hospital, much to the team's relief. They all breathe a sigh of relief and eventually, Jerry's retirement party becomes a touching celebration of his years of service to the Parks department. Amidst all the craziness, it also becomes a reminder of the ways in which Jerry impacted each and every one of his coworkers.
