In Parks & Recreation season 5 episode 17, titled "Partridge," Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) is determined to pass a bill that would increase the amount of female representation on city government boards and commissions. In order to do so, she enlists the help of her former political rival, Councilman Jamm (Jon Glaser), to secure the necessary votes.
Meanwhile, Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) takes on a new role as the lead singer of a local band called Mouse Rat, much to the chagrin of his wife, April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza). April becomes increasingly frustrated with Andy as he dedicates all his time and energy to the band, leaving little room for their relationship.
Elsewhere, Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari) is smitten with a guest at the Snakehole Lounge, Mona-Lisa Saperstein (Jenny Slate), who happens to be the sister of his ex-girlfriend, Jean-Ralphio (Ben Schwartz).
As the episode progresses, Leslie's efforts to pass the bill hit a major snag, and she begins to question whether she can succeed on her own. Andy's music career also takes a turn for the worse, forcing him to confront the consequences of his choices. And Tom is forced to navigate the complicated dynamics of his attraction to Mona-Lisa, his loyalty to Jean-Ralphio, and his desire for a meaningful relationship.
Through it all, the characters of Parks & Recreation demonstrate the power of perseverance, friendship, and love in the face of adversity. With its signature blend of humor, heart, and political satire, "Partridge" is a standout episode in this beloved comedy series.
