In Parks & Recreation season 5 episode 11 titled "Women In Garbage", Leslie Knope is determined to prove Pawnee's sanitation department is sexist after discovering that it only has one female employee. She enlists the help of April Ludgate and Ann Perkins to go undercover as garbage collectors to gather evidence to support her claim.
Meanwhile, Ron Swanson is going through a difficult time dealing with his ex-wife Tammy 2's return to town. He tries to avoid her at all costs, but things escalate when she shows up at his office to announce she's taken a job at the library. Ron is convinced she's up to something and enlists Andy Dwyer to help him figure out what her motives are.
Back at the sanitation department, Leslie, April, and Ann begin their undercover work and quickly discover that the male garbage collectors are being given preferential treatment in terms of job assignments and promotions. They also witness firsthand the physical and emotional toll the job takes on the workers. Despite facing harassment from their coworkers, the women continue their work and gather enough evidence to support Leslie's claim of sexism within the department.
As Leslie prepares to present her findings to the city council, Ron discovers that Tammy 2's new job is part of a larger plan to take over the entire library system and turn it into a bar. He confronts her and the two engage in a heated argument that ultimately leads to Tammy's arrest and the prevention of her plan.
At the city council meeting, Leslie presents her evidence and successfully convinces the council to implement changes in the sanitation department to ensure gender equality. She also secures a job for the female garbage collector who inspired her investigation in the first place.
Overall, "Women In Garbage" highlights the important themes of gender equality and the physical toll of blue-collar jobs, all while providing the show's usual blend of heart and humor.
