The show Parenthood season 5 episode 17 titled "Limbo" continues the engaging storyline of the NBC drama series. The Bravermans are once again in a time of uncertainty as the episode starts off with the family waiting for news on Zeek's surgery.
The surgery has been something that has been discussed for multiple episodes and viewers have been nervous about the outcome. While at the hospital, Sarah, Amber, Drew, and Max are also there sitting in the waiting room with the rest of the family, and they are all there to lend support for Zeek.
As the episode progresses, the other family members cope with their own individual struggles. Julia is still trying to deal with her divorce from Joel and is beginning to realise the consequences that it will have on her family. Crosby and Jasmine are attempting to resolve their differences and decide to move forward with marriage counseling. Meanwhile, Adam and Kristina are dealing with the aftermath of their decision to run for office, which is spurned on when Kristina continues to receive negative attention from the press.
These issues are all brought to light at a family dinner, in which Crosby decides to announce their plans to go to marriage counseling with the family. As the family works through their issues, Zeek is slowly recovering with the help of Camille. However, it is clear that the entire family is still grappling with the most significant challenge they have faced yet.
As the episode progresses, we see that the family is looking for hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. This leads them to invite members of the church to come and sing, which helps them to find some solace and peace.
Overall, "Limbo" is an emotional episode, due to Zeek's situation. It forces the family to confront difficult decisions and realities and to realise that these moments need to be cherished because they will change everything. It's a reminder that life is fragile, and it's important to appreciate what you have while you still can.
