As soon as the sun sets and darkness envelops the earth, the city of Riverside, California, takes on a whole new face. A place where an eerie silence sets in, and the night becomes the perfect canvas for the paranormal activities that ensue. This is where the first episode of Paranormal Emergency, season one, begins.
At around 10:15 pm, emergency services receive a frantic call from a woman named Karen, who is desperate for assistance as an unknown entity starts to attack her family. The episode dives right in with the first responders scrambling to figure out what could be happening at the house, which culminates in a heart-stopping scene where they realize that whatever is happening inside the house isn't human.
After assessing the situation and making sure Karen's family is safe, the paranormal team starts to dig deeper into the mysterious happenings at the house. They discover that Karen’s home is built on an old Indian burial ground that is surrounded by some sort of evil energy. The team brings in the technology and equipment that they use to detect ghosts, and it is not long before they come across some chilling evidence to support the fact that Karen's house may be haunted.
As the team continues their investigation, they discover that Karen's son has been behaving strangely since they've moved into the house. He claims to see ghosts, and as a result, he's become very reserved and scared of going to sleep. As the paranormal investigation picks up pace, the team discovers that the house is indeed haunted by multiple entities, with one of them being particularly aggressive.
Once the team had gathered enough evidence supporting Karen's belief that there were ghosts in her home, they attempted to cleanse the environment by eliminating negative energy inside the house. They used sage and other plants, religious icons, and other spiritual tools to remove the ghosts that were haunting Karen's home.
In the end, the team succeeds in identifying the entities and removing them from Karen's home. Karen expresses immense gratitude for all the hard work that the team had put in. The case leaves the team with a realization that such cases are not rare and that breaking the paranormal myths created around such cases is also extremely crucial.
