Ep 5. Fearful Fed

As a supernatural event show, Paranormal 911 has taken a fair share of eccentric stories detailing hauntings and ghostly presences in people’s homes or workplaces. In this particular episode, Fearful Fed, the show explores the experiences of three different first responders who felt more than cautious about their workplaces due to the ghostly undertones present in them.

The episode starts with a 911 dispatcher working in a call center at Nebraska. She explains how her cubicle is situated at the corner of the room and sometimes she feels like someone is watching her from the edges of her sight; however, every time she turns, there’s nothing there. Not only this, but she also feels the cold spots sometimes, making her feel a sudden chill down her spine. The episode takes viewers through her job as a dispatcher, the disastrous calls she receives, and how the ghostly instances continue to make her job even harder.

Next, Paranormal 911 takes us to New Jersey, where a female police officer named Ashley reveals her story. She explains that she’s always felt a presence at her workplace - the police station. She recalls entering the empty locker room, hearing an unexplainable noise, and quickly looking around to see if anyone else was there. Furthermore, she tells us about the evening where she felt like someone’s watching her from the windows and turned around only to find no one there. Interestingly, she’s not alone in this experience, and her colleagues have similar unexplainable incidents that make the police station feel haunted.

Lastly, Fearful Fed ends with a firefighter’s story in Montana. Here, John, who is a firefighter, explains how his fire station has a long history stretching all the way back to the 1890s. Oddly enough this history is personally felt by the firefighters as John tells us the story of someone whispering his name as he was in bed, followed by a door slamming shut. Creeped out, he jumped out of bed and turned around, but nothing was there. At the time of the episode, John wasn’t the only firefighter experiencing the hauntings; others had previously witnessed apparitions and heard inexplicable noises.

As with previous episodes of Paranormal 911, Fearful Fed grips your attention from the outset until the end. It teams up emergency workers’ everyday stories in which they can never be sure if what they see is due to sleep deprivation or indeed supernatural forces. Although the footage and images of paranormal entities are not explicitly shown, the stories themselves are enough to make viewers feel uneasy.

Overall, this episode of Paranormal 911 illuminates how even professional first responders can find themselves powerless against the supernatural. With three different first responders, from different walks of life and in various parts of the US, recounting stories of seemingly ghostly experiences, it’s fair to say that the show delivers yet another spooky tale. Nonetheless, with Fearful Fed, Paranormal 911 delves deeper into the haunting narratives, weaving more of an untold story, which in turn, keeps the viewer engaged and on the edge of their seat.
