Apollo the owl is feeling left out because everyone is preparing for a special day, but nobody has mentioned anything about a special day for him. Sweetpea Sue, Squacky, and Cowbella try to distract him by taking him on a scavenger hunt in the park, but nothing seems to cheer him up. When they return home, they find out Apollo's special day is actually that night - it's the night of the full moon, which is very special to owls. They all celebrate together by having a big dance party under the moonlight, with Apollo as the star of the show.
Later that night, everyone is getting ready for bed and they're all a little bit wound up from the excitement of the day. To help them wind down, the Pajanimals get a musical visit from a friendly firefly named Night. Night sings them a lullaby to help them drift off to sleep, and they all have sweet dreams. This episode teaches kids about the importance of being patient and understanding when friends are feeling left out, and also reinforces the importance of getting a good night's sleep.
