In Oz season 2 episode 7, titled "Animal Farm," tensions continue to rise within Emerald City as different factions battle for power. Glynn, the warden, is caught in the middle of it all as he tries to maintain control while also dealing with personal problems.
One of the key storylines in this episode involves Tobias Beecher, a former lawyer who is now serving time in Oz for DUI manslaughter. Beecher has developed a drug addiction while in prison, and he's been using heroin to cope with the stress and trauma of his situation. In this episode, he agrees to help the Italian mob by testifying against a rival gang in exchange for drugs.
Meanwhile, Adebisi, one of the most dangerous inmates in Emerald City, continues to scheme and plot his way to the top of the food chain. He manipulates a group of inmates into creating a makeshift animal farm in the prison courtyard, using the animals as a front for his own criminal activities. Adebisi is also using the farm as a way to recruit new members to his gang, promising them protection and privileges in exchange for loyalty.
As the tensions mount, violence erupts in Emerald City. A group of inmates stages a protest against the corrupt prison system, and Glynn is forced to take drastic measures to quell the rebellion. Meanwhile, Beecher's drug addiction spirals out of control, and he finds himself in a dangerous situation.
Throughout the episode, viewers are given a glimpse into the complex web of relationships and alliances that govern life inside Oz. From the brutal violence of Adebisi to the political machinations of Glynn, "Animal Farm" paints a vivid picture of the harsh realities of life behind bars. As the season continues, it's clear that in Oz, survival is everything, and the inmates will stop at nothing to protect themselves and their interests.
