Ep 1. End and Beginning

In the first episode of the anime series Overlord, titled "End and Beginning", we are introduced to the main character, Momonga, a powerful wizard who is the leader of the guild Ainz Ooal Gown in the virtual reality game, Yggdrasil. Momonga is shown to be extremely passionate about the world of Yggdrasil and is the only remaining member of Ainz Ooal Gown.

In the beginning of the episode, we see Momonga preparing to log out of the game as Yggdrasil is shutting down after 12 years of service. However, as he is about to log out, he realizes that he is unable to do so and the game continues to run. All other players have been logged out and the game's NPCs, non-player characters, have become sentient and are behaving as if they are real-life beings, much to Momonga's shock.

Momonga, who now looks like his avatar, an undead skeleton, decides to investigate the new state of the game. He then hears a commotion and decides to investigate. He arrives at the throne room of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, his guild's headquarters in the game world, and finds it under attack by a group of powerful knights led by a warrior known as Clementine.

As Momonga engages in battle with Clementine, he realizes that his power has increased significantly and feels much more powerful than he did before. This increased strength proves to be advantageous in the fight against Clementine, as he is able to use deadly magic spells to easily dispatch her.

Following the fight with Clementine, Momonga is greeted by his loyal guardians, who are all NPCs that he created while playing Yggdrasil. They are all surprised and delighted to see that their creator, Momonga, is still present in the game world and joins him in exploring this new state of Yggdrasil. Momonga and the guardians decide to explore the world and meet with other powerful NPCs and guilds that have become sentient in this new state of Yggdrasil.

Overall, the first episode of Overlord is an action-packed, exciting introduction to the world of Yggdrasil and the character of Momonga. It sets the stage for an intriguing storyline that explores the themes of artificial intelligence and the line between reality and fantasy. With its richly developed characters and beautifully animated fight scenes, Overlord is sure to keep viewers entertained throughout its entire run.
