Ep 6. Back Yard Drainage Problems

Dario and Blanca Jimenez have a problem. Every time it rains, a tidal wave of water washes down from the nearby mountains, across their sloping backyard and floods their bedroom. To fix the problem, Dario and his father-in-law decided to build a small patio and pergola outside the bedroom, hoping that the angled the paving stones they laid would direct the run-off away from the house. Unfortunately, the next big rainstorm proved that plan wasn't going to work. Host Eric Stromer and carpenter Josh Hammond show Dario how to fix the problem once and for all by grading and landscaping the yard, as well as by building a working drainage system.
