They kick off their adventure in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest and most urban hub in Vietnam. Jack's team wastes no time in immersing themselves in the vibrant culture of the city by testing its food, sightseeing, and mingling with locals.
After spending some fun-filled days in the city, the team embark on a quest to explore the Mekong Delta, one of Vietnam's most scenic and fertile regions. Here, Jack's team explores life on the riverside by traversing the waterways on small boats, tasting traditional food in floating restaurants, and interacting with locals in lively markets.
The team spent a portion of their time in the Mekong Delta visiting the Cuu Long Sedge Bay, commonly known as Giong Trom - the sedge mat weaving village. The team witness the day-to-day life of the villagers, the weaving process, secrets, and traditions behind the craft.
Next, the team set out to discover the vast network of underground tunnels famously known as the Cu Chi Tunnels. This historic site is significant for its role during the Vietnam War. The tunnels were used by the Vietnamese fighters as hiding places, supply routes, and headquarters during the war. Here, the team gets to see some of the surviving structures that maintained its role in the war and get an in-depth look at how the tunnels were used and constructed.
To end their journey, the Outta Town Adventures team heads for the historic Champa Kingdom in My Son Sanctuary. This site is home to over 70 Hindu temples built between the 4th and 14th centuries. The temples, which surround the verdant valley floor, are reminders of the once-great Champa civilization's legacy. The team spends some time exploring the ruins, trying to uncover the secrets behind the impressive structures, and imagining what life was like for the people who lived in the once bustling city.
