In the eleventh episode of the first season of Orange is the New Black, entitled "Tall Men with Feelings," emotions run high as the inmates prepare for a Valentine's Day dance. Piper, still reeling from her fight with Pennsatucky in the previous episode, seeks solace in Alex's arms. However, their reunion is cut short when Larry calls Alex with news of Piper's cheating.
Meanwhile, tensions continue to build between Pornstache and Bennett, as they both vie for the affections of Daya. When Pornstache discovers that Daya's baby is not his, he becomes increasingly aggressive and threatens to expose Bennett's involvement. This ultimately leads to a shocking turn of events that will have lasting consequences for all involved.
Meanwhile, Red's plan to starve out Piper and her friends backfires when she discovers that one of her own is stealing food. She enlists the help of a new inmate, Vee, to help set things right, but Vee's motives may not be entirely altruistic.
Elsewhere, Crazy Eyes is smitten with a new inmate, Janae, and tries to win her over with her poetry. However, Janae is more interested in getting in shape for the upcoming dance, and enlists Taystee to help train her.
As the day of the dance approaches, the tension in the prison reaches a fever pitch. Piper's relationship with Larry is on the rocks, and her rekindled romance with Alex is in jeopardy. The feud between Pornstache and Bennett comes to a head, with devastating consequences. And as the inmates let loose on the dance floor, their emotions run high, leading to unexpected revelations and heartbreaking moments.
Through it all, "Tall Men with Feelings" showcases the complex relationships and dynamics that drive the series, as the inmates struggle to survive in a harsh and unforgiving environment.
