Del Boy (David Jason) has come up with a new scheme to make some quick cash by selling some allegedly valuable antique Russian dolls to a wealthy German collector. He orders Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) to go on a trip to Germany to broker the deal, but due to an unfortunate mix-up with faulty passports, the naive Rodney ends up in East Germany instead of West Germany.
As Rodney tries to navigate his way through the unfamiliar territory, Del and Uncle Albert (Buster Merryfield) have to come up with another plan to raise the money they desperately need. They decide to steal a valuable fountain from a wealthy estate, but things quickly go awry when they realize that the estate is not only heavily guarded but also has guard dogs roaming the property.
Meanwhile, back in East Germany, Rodney finds himself in a precarious situation. He is mistaken for a British spy and is interrogated by the Stasi. The situation only gets worse when he accidentally reveals his true identity as a petty criminal from Peckham, leading him to become a pawn in a dangerous game of espionage.
As the Trotters try to pull off their respective schemes, they find themselves in way over their heads.
