As One Door Closes is the seventh episode of the fourth season of the British sitcom Only Fools and Horses. The show follows the lives of the Trotter brothers, Del Boy and Rodney, as they navigate through their daily lives while constantly trying to find ways to become rich.
In this episode, the Trotters are forced to find new opportunities to make money after they are caught in a police sting operation and their market stall is closed down. They try their hands at various ventures, including selling cleaning products and perfume door to door, and attempting to launch a fashion business by buying stolen coats from a disappearing coat dealer.
Meanwhile, Rodney's marriage to his uppity girlfriend Cassandra is on the rocks because he spends all his time with Del Boy instead of with her. Del tries to convince Rodney to patch things up with Cassandra and comes up with the idea of buying her an engagement ring to show his commitment.
The episode is full of hilarious scenes, with the Trotters constantly facing setbacks and setbacks, only to be saved at the last minute by a lucky break. The dialogue is witty and full of classic one-liners, and the physical comedy is expertly choreographed.
One of the standout moments of the episode is when Del and Rodney try to sell perfume door to door and end up accidentally spraying a woman in the face. Another memorable scene is when they attempt to launch their fashion business by hosting a pop-up coat shop outside a nightclub, only to see all their customers disappear when the police show up.
As always, the chemistry between the cast members is fantastic, with David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst giving standout performances as Del and Rodney. Lennard Pearce also delivers a hilarious turn as the Trotters' elderly friend Grandad, who lends his unique perspective to their business ventures.
Overall, As One Door Closes is a classic episode of Only Fools and Horses, filled with laughs, heart, and plenty of classic British humour. It's a must-watch for fans of the show and for anyone looking for a good laugh.
