Only Fools and Horses is a British sitcom that follows the lives of two brothers, Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter (David Jason) and Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst) as they navigate their way through life in Peckham, London. The show is known for its witty humor and lovable characters, and has become a cult classic in British television history. Season 4 episode 3 is titled 'Hole in One', and it sees Del and Rodney attempting to try their hand at golf.
The episode opens with Del and Rodney visiting a local golf course, hoping to spend the day playing golf and enjoying the sunshine. However, their plans are quickly derailed when they discover that the course is out of bounds due to an ongoing tournament. Disappointed but undeterred, the brothers decide to wait it out and see if they can sneak in a quick round at the end of the day.
As they are waiting, they run into their old friend Denzil (Paul Barber), who is working as a caddy for one of the golfers in the tournament. Denzil tells them about a bet he has placed on his boss, and asks Del and Rodney for some advice. Del, always eager to make a quick buck, tells Denzil that he can give him some tips on how to improve his boss's game and increase his chances of winning the tournament.
Rodney, who is not much of a golfer himself, is skeptical of Del's ability to provide any useful advice. However, Del is confident in his own skills and tells Rodney that he used to be a professional golfer in his youth. Rodney doesn't believe him, and the two get into an argument over Del's proposed bet with Denzil.
The situation gets even more complicated when Del and Rodney run into an old acquaintance, Boycie (John Challis), who happens to be a member of the golf club. Boycie invites the brothers to play a round with him, and they decide to take him up on his offer. However, their lack of experience on the golf course quickly becomes apparent, and they end up making a mess of things.
Meanwhile, Denzil puts Del's advice to the test, with disastrous results. His boss's game gets worse and worse, and he ends up losing the bet. Denzil is furious and blames Del for the loss, and the two end up getting into a heated argument.
The episode comes to a climax when Del and Rodney are given one last chance to redeem themselves on the golf course. They are put up against Boycie in a final match, and it becomes clear that the stakes are higher than they initially thought. As they struggle to keep up with Boycie's expert golfing skills, Del and Rodney learn some valuable lessons about the game, and about life in general.
