As the crew of the Thousand Sunny continues their voyage on the Grand Line, they receive a distress call from their old friend, Vivi. She informs them that her kingdom, Alabasta, is in danger once again as a group of rebels attempt to overthrow her rule. Luffy and his crew know that they cannot turn their backs on a friend in need, so they set off to help Vivi and the people of Alabasta.
Along the way, they encounter a new group of enemies known as the Phoenix Pirates. Led by a captain named Puzzle, the Phoenix Pirates are after a powerful treasure that is said to be located in Alabasta. They are also in possession of a mysterious fruit that grants the user the power to control fire, and they are using this power to terrorize the citizens of the Grand Line.
As the Straw Hat Pirates make their way closer to Alabasta, they learn more about Puzzle's past and his connection to their old friend, Ace. With this information, they realize that they must stop the Phoenix Pirates not only to protect Alabasta, but to honor Ace's memory as well.
As they reach Alabasta, the Straw Hats are greeted by a familiar face - Smoker, a marine captain who had previously chased after them. However, he is here on a personal mission to assist Vivi and her kingdom. With their combined efforts, the Straw Hats, Vivi, and Smoker are able to repel the Phoenix Pirates' attack and prevent the rebellion from succeeding.
But the battle is not over yet. Puzzle and his crew are still determined to get their hands on the treasure, and they will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. The Straw Hats must stay strong and united to defeat their powerful foes and protect Alabasta once and for all.
In the end, the Straw Hats emerge victorious, but not without sacrifice. They must say goodbye to a dear friend and continue on their journey with heavy hearts. But they know that they will never forget the ones they fought for, and the dream of the pirate flag that they swore to uphold.
