In the 49th episode of the first season of One Piece, the audience is introduced to Zoro's new swords - Kitetsu III and Yubashiri, as well as the woman sergeant major who helps him acquire them.
The episode opens with Zoro, the pirate, and member of the Straw Hat crew, in dire need of new swords. His old ones were destroyed during his battle with Dracule Mihawk, who remains the world's greatest swordsman. Zoro is on Sword Mountain searching for two new swords that can replace his old ones.
On the mountain, Zoro meets the woman sergeant major, Tashigi, who is in charge of the marine base on the island and is a skilled swordswoman as well. Tashigi insists on accompanying Zoro, as she is concerned with the possible dangers he may face on the mountain.
As they start their search for Zoro's new swords, they encounter a samurai named Shimotsuki who has the Kitetsu III sword in his possession. The sword is known to be cursed and has a history of causing harm to its wielder. However, Zoro decides to take the risk and tries to acquire it from Shimotsuki. Initially, Shimotsuki refuses but eventually accepts Zoro's request under the condition that he takes responsibility for any harm caused by the sword.
Shortly after, they stumble upon a cave where another sword, Yubashiri, is located. The sword belonged to a legendary pirate, Yassop, who was the father of Usopp, a member of the Straw Hat crew. Zoro is impressed by the quality of the sword and decides to keep it.
Before they leave the mountain, Tashigi discovers that Zoro is a wanted criminal and is disappointed, given her admiration for swordsman. Nevertheless, they part on good terms, with Tashigi suggesting that they will most likely meet in the future.
The episode concludes with the Straw Hat crew sailing towards their next adventure, with Zoro now equipped with two new swords that will aid him in battle.
