The episode titled "Setting Out With a Smile! Farewell, Hometown Cocoyashi Village!" is the 44th episode of the first season of the anime series One Piece. It follows the Straw Hat Pirates as they prepare to leave the village of Cocoyashi, which they have been staying in for the past few episodes. The episode begins with Nami, the navigator of the crew, saying goodbye to her adoptive mother, Bellemere.
Bellemere is a former marine who raised Nami and her sister Nojiko after they washed up on the island as children. She supported her family by working in a tangerine orchard and later in a fish market. Despite her strict personality, she loved her daughters fiercely and instilled in them a sense of responsibility and determination.
As the Straw Hats prepare to set sail, Nami spends a last morning in Cocoyashi Village running errands and saying goodbye to old friends. She gives a piece of her own treasure to the local doctor, Dr. Hiluluk, as a token of thanks for his help in curing her sickness.
Meanwhile, Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hats, reunites with his old friend Usopp, whom he had met briefly on another island. Usopp is a notorious liar and a coward, but he proves to be a useful ally as he helps Luffy and the rest of the crew prepare to leave.
As they set sail, the crew is ambushed by Arlong, a powerful fishman who had been terrorizing the villagers of Cocoyashi. Nami reveals that she had been working for Arlong as a thief in order to save up enough money to buy back her village from the fishman.
Luffy is enraged by the injustice that Nami has suffered and decides to take on Arlong and his gang of pirates. He and his crew launch a full-scale attack on Arlong Park, the fishman's underwater lair. The battle is fierce and brutal, with both sides sustaining heavy casualties.
In the end, the Straw Hats emerge victorious. They defeat Arlong and his crew and free the village from their tyranny. Nami uses the money she had saved up to buy back her village and start a new life for herself and her people.
As the episode comes to a close, the Straw Hats set sail once again, ready for their next adventure. Nami, now a full member of the crew, joins Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp and the rest of the gang as they journey across the Grand Line in search of One Piece, the ultimate treasure of the pirate world.
