Reginald Perrin star Leonard Rossiter guests as archetypal nosy neighbour Victor Meldrew continues to get caught up in the everyday problems that we all encounter in life. In tonight's episode, Meldrew reluctantly agrees to speak at the local Women's Guild's meeting in honour of his late mother, but as he grapples with the prospect of facing the ladies, he uncovers a sinister plot that threatens to derail the entire event. Meanwhile, his long-suffering wife Margaret is tormented by a pesky rodent that's been making itself at home in their kitchen. With his patience tested to breaking point, Victor is forced to take extreme measures to rid himself of the unwelcome intruder. Elsewhere, the Meldrews' seemingly unflappable nemesis Patrick Trench is also at the mercy of a strange and terrifying occurrence that leaves him questioning his own sanity. Against a backdrop of hilarious misunderstandings and surreal situations, series six continues to push the boundaries of the British sitcom with its unique blend of humour, pathos, and everyday horrors.
