Ep 5. The Trial

Albert and Victor are summoned to do jury service, and Victor is determined to take advantage of the opportunity by imposing his own views on the other jurors. However, things take a serious turn when he becomes convinced that the defendant, a young woman accused of shoplifting, is actually innocent. As Victor sets about trying to uncover the truth, he discovers a tangled web of corruption and deceit that threatens to land him in hot water - with the law, and with his long-suffering wife Margaret. Meanwhile, Victor's old nemesis Mr. Swainey is back in town, and up to his old tricks - culminating in a spectacular showdown that leaves Victor in dire straits.
