Olympus is a television series that premiered on the Syfy network in 2015. The show is a modern retelling of Greek mythology, featuring the story of the legendary hero and demigod, Theseus, as he leads a group of brave warriors on a perilous quest to overthrow the tyrannical ruler of Olympus.

The show's primary protagonist is Theseus, played by Tom York, a young man with a tragic past who is determined to avenge the death of his mother and bring down the ruthless King Hyperion. Alongside him are his loyal companions, including the fierce Oracle, played by Sonita Henry, and the spirited Ariadne, played by Sonya Cassidy.

The first episode of the series sees Theseus and his allies being recruited by the goddess Athena to embark on a dangerous mission to take down Hyperion's regime. The journey quickly proves to be treacherous as they encounter a host of mythical creatures and unexpected obstacles along the way.

As the story unfolds, Theseus and his comrades find themselves embroiled in a battle for the fate of Olympus itself, facing off against powerful gods and battling their own personal demons.

One of the most striking aspects of Olympus is its visual style. The show is filmed in a unique blend of contemporary and ancient styles, with elaborate sets and costumes that capture the grandeur and majesty of Greek mythology. The special effects are also excellent, creating an immersive world filled with fantastical creatures and magical powers.

The acting is generally strong across the board, with Tom York delivering an impressive performance as Theseus. He brings depth and nuance to the character, making him a sympathetic and relatable figure. Sonya Cassidy and Sonita Henry also do an excellent job with their respective roles, adding to the show's impressive cast.

While the series has its share of action and adventure, it also explores deeper themes such as destiny, sacrifice, and the nature of power. The show balances these weighty ideas with moments of levity and humor, as well as some steamy romance and sexual tension.

Of course, one of the biggest draws of Olympus is its connection to Greek mythology. The show incorporates elements from classic myths and legends, but adds its own unique twists and interpretations. Fans of Greek mythology will find plenty to enjoy here, while newcomers will be introduced to a fascinating world full of colorful characters and epic tales.

All in all, Olympus is a highly entertaining series that packs plenty of thrills and emotional resonance. While it only ran for one season, it remains a beloved cult classic for fans of fantasy and Greek mythology alike.

Olympus is a series that ran for 1 seasons (13 episodes) between April 2, 2015 and on Syfy
