Season 1 episode 11 titled "The Other Woman" sees Nina struggling to come to terms with the fact that her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Chris Havel, has moved on and found someone else.
As the episode opens, Nina is still in shock and disbelief over the news that Chris has started seeing someone else. His new girlfriend, Kim, is a talented musician who is also pregnant. Nina is understandably jealous and hurt, but she tries her best to move on and focus on her work.
Meanwhile, Nina's boss, Dr. Lawrence Pethbridge, is dealing with his own personal crisis. His wife is in a coma, and he's struggling to cope with the emotional toll it is taking on him. Nina tries to offer him support, but her attempts to connect with him fall flat.
As the episode progresses, Nina finds herself increasingly drawn to her colleague, Martin Clegg. Martin is smart, funny, and genuinely seems to care about her. Nina starts to realize that Martin might be exactly what she needs in her life right now.
However, when Chris comes back into the picture, Nina finds herself torn between her feelings for him and her growing attraction to Martin. She's also dealing with her own insecurities and fears, particularly when it comes to the prospect of starting a family. As an obstetrician, Nina is constantly surrounded by pregnancy and childbirth, but she's not sure if she's ready to become a mother herself.
Throughout the episode, Nina is forced to confront her own desires and insecurities. She has to decide whether to pursue a relationship with Martin or try to win Chris back. She also has to come to terms with the fact that she might not have as much time as she thinks to start a family.
"The Other Woman" is a poignant and emotional episode that explores themes of love, loss, and the complexities of relationships.
