In this episode of Odd Squad, agents Olympia and Otis are assigned a mission in the frozen wilderness. Their task is to teach an adult how to ice fish so that they can catch a rare fish called the Rainbow Trout. However, things don't go as planned when they realize that the person they are supposed to teach is in fact Agent Olympia's grandmother.

As they head out to the frozen lake, Olympia's grandmother reveals that she had always wanted to try ice fishing, but never had the chance to do so. This makes Olympia determined to teach her everything she knows about the activity, so that her grandmother can finally live her dream.

But, there's a catch. The Rainbow Trout can only be caught by a person who has never caught a fish before. This means that Olympia and Otis cannot catch the fish themselves, but must rely on Olympia's grandmother to do it. And, to make things more difficult, the fish is known for being incredibly clever and difficult to catch.

As they set up their fishing gear, the agents begin to teach Olympia's grandmother the basics. They explain how to drill a hole in the ice, how to set up the fishing rod, and how to bait the hook. However, it becomes clear that this is going to be a tough mission when they realize that the grandmother has difficulty following their instructions.

Despite this challenge, Olympia and Otis remain patient, and continue to teach her step-by-step. They demonstrate each action slowly, and give her plenty of time to practice on her own. While it may take some time, they are determined to help her catch the Rainbow Trout.

As they wait for a bite, the group bonds over their shared experience. Olympia learns more about her grandmother's past, and they trade stories about their time at Odd Squad. Meanwhile, Otis attempts to catch some smaller fish, and teaches Olympia's grandmother how to cook them over an open flame.

However, the moment they've all been waiting for arrives when the Rainbow Trout finally takes the bait. Olympia's grandmother reels it in with all her might, and as they pull the fish onto the ice, they can hardly believe their eyes. It's a beautiful specimen, with scales that shine like the colors of a rainbow.

But, as they celebrate their success, things take a turn for the worse. The fish begins to wriggle and shake, and before they know it, it slips from their grasp and slides back into the icy water. The agents are stunned and devastated. They had come so close, only to have the fish escape at the last possible moment.

Despite this setback, the agents and Olympia's grandmother refuse to give up. They remain determined to catch the Rainbow Trout, and they come up with a plan to do so. As they put their plan into action, they realize that they are stronger as a team than they are alone. Together, they are able to overcome the challenges they face, and finally catch the elusive fish.

In the end, the agents return to Odd Squad headquarters with their catch, proud of what they've accomplished. Olympia's grandmother thanks them for teaching her how to ice fish, and they promise to do it again soon. As they say goodbye, the agents realize that they've not only taught someone how to fish, but they've learned valuable lessons about teamwork and determination themselves.
