Ep 5. Daffodil

Nurse Jackie is a medical drama series that follows the life of an emergency room nurse named Jackie Peyton. Throughout the series, we see Jackie struggle to juggle her demanding job, her family life, and her addiction to prescription drugs.

Episode 5 of season 1 is titled "Daffodil", and it focuses on Jackie's relationships with the people around her. As the day goes on, Jackie begins to notice that something's off with Eleanor. She's not acting like herself, and Jackie can tell that something's bothering her. Eventually, Eleanor confides in Jackie that she's pregnant and doesn't know what to do. Jackie is shocked but tells her that she'll be there to support her no matter what.

Back at home, Kevin and the girls are putting together a puzzle when they notice a suspicious package on the doorstep. They call the police, and it turns out to be a care package from Jackie's drug dealer. Kevin is furious and confronts Jackie about her addiction. He tells her that he can't keep living like this and that she needs to get help.

Jackie is defensive at first, but she eventually realizes that Kevin is right. She goes to a Narcotics Anonymous meeting, and while she's there, she sees Mr. Bray. He's also at the meeting, and he tells Jackie that he's decided to end his life. Jackie is devastated, but she tries to convince him to give life another chance.

In the end, Jackie's day ends on a bittersweet note. She's made progress in her own life by admitting she has a problem and seeking help, but she's also unable to save Mr. Bray. The episode ends with Jackie sitting alone, looking out over the city, contemplating the ups and downs of her life.
