Notes From the Underbelly follows the life of Lauren and Andrew, a young couple living in Los Angeles who are about to embark on a new adventure - parenthood. In the pilot episode, Lauren and her close friend, Julie, have been trying to conceive for nine months and have not been successful. Lauren is feeling frustrated and anxious as she sees more and more of her friends becoming pregnant.
