In Northern Exposure season 2 episode 7, titled "Slow Dance," the residents of Cicely get ready for the annual Sadie Hawkins dance. As the girls scramble to find a date, Joel (Rob Morrow) is surprised to be asked by an 18-year-old high school student named Heather (played by guest star Teri Polo).
