In North Woods Law season 3 episode 6 titled "Summer Heats Up," the officers of the Maine Warden Service are faced with a multitude of challenges as the summer months bring an influx of tourists, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts to the North Woods.
The episode opens with Game Warden K9 team Jeremy Judd and his dog Sig responding to a distress call from a hiker who has gotten lost on a mountain trail. Judd and Sig set out to locate the hiker while fellow officers assist from the ground and air. The search proves to be a difficult one as the thick forest canopy makes it difficult for the search team to locate the lost hiker.
As the search for the lost hiker continues, Game Warden Tim Spahr receives a call about an alleged boat theft. He heads to the lake to investigate the situation, but as tensions rise between Spahr and the boat owner, it becomes clear that there is more to the story than what was initially reported.
Meanwhile, Game Warden Kris MacCabe is patrolling the Allagash Wilderness Waterway when he comes across a group of kayakers who are in need of assistance. One of the kayakers has a serious heart condition and is in need of medical attention. MacCabe radios for help and successfully coordinates a rescue mission that gets the kayaker the help he needs.
Back on the mountain trail, Judd and Sig are continuing their search for the lost hiker when they come across a family of hikers who are lost themselves. Judd quickly shifts his focus to the new situation and works to help the family find their way back to safety.
As evening falls, Game Wardens Sean Simmons and Ben Karon are on patrol when they receive a call about a potential drowning. They rush to the scene and find a group of swimmers attempting to save a man who has gone under the water. The wardens quickly dive in and work to help the swimmers locate the missing man.
Throughout the episode, viewers are given a glimpse into the daily challenges and triumphs of the Maine Warden Service as they work to keep the North Woods safe for both visitors and wildlife alike.
