Ep 15. Early & Often

In the 15th episode of North American Whitetail's 11th season, titled "Early & Often," viewers follow renowned hunters as they embark on the early bow season in search of big bucks.

The episode starts with veteran hunter Gordon Whittington as he heads to his hunting grounds in Oklahoma, where he hopes to encounter a mature whitetail. Whittington reveals that early season hunts require a bit of finesse, as the weather is hot and deer are still adapting to the changes in their habitats. Regardless, Whittington executes a well-planned strategy, setting up his blind in an area where he knows the deer will be passing through. His patience and perseverance are eventually rewarded when a remarkable 170-inch buck appears in his sights.

Another hunter, Josh McDaniel, heads to an expansive plot of private land in Missouri, where he has been scouting deer for weeks. McDaniel uses his knowledge of the area to his advantage, putting up a tree stand in what he views as the most advantageous location. After a few uneventful days, McDaniel finally lures a curious buck within range and takes his shot.

Meanwhile, Chris Parrish, an experienced bowhunter, sets out to explore unfamiliar terrain in Iowa. Parrish treks through field and forests, carefully planning his approach and patiently waiting for the perfect moment to strike. His long wait is rewarded when the largest buck he has ever seen steps out of the brush just yards away from his blind.

The episode also features an incredible single afternoon hunt by James Brion, a skilled hunter from Missouri. Brion sets up in a strategical location, hoping to catch a mature buck and, within just a few hours, executes his shot with swift precision.

As the episode progresses, viewers are introduced to a few more enthusiastic hunters, including 21-year old Beau Spielman, who hopes to prove his worth in the sport, and Kevin Hutchings, who puts his late father's hunting lessons to the test.
