Next, Bourdain travels to Copenhagen, where he meets up with renowned Danish chef Rene Redzepi of the world-famous restaurant Noma. Together, they explore the city's food scene, sampling everything from Danish pastries to experimental fare at Redzepi's own restaurant. Bourdain also visits the famous Little Mermaid statue and reflects on the unique Danish concept of "hygge," or cozy comfort.
Finally, Bourdain heads to Berlin, where he takes a tour of the city's vibrant street art and graffiti scene. He also visits the remains of the Berlin Wall and reflects on the city's divided past. But of course, there's still plenty of food to be enjoyed. Bourdain samples traditional German fare like schnitzel and sausage, and visits a bustling Turkish market to try some of the city's best kebabs.
Throughout the episode, Bourdain also reflects on his own experiences and emotions as he travels through Europe. He speaks candidly about his struggles with addiction and how food and travel have helped him find purpose and meaning in life. As always, he maintains a sense of humor and curiosity, making for an entertaining and enlightening journey through some of Europe's most fascinating cities.
