After School is the final episode of season 1 of the romantic comedy anime series Nisekoi. This episode focuses on the aftermath of the high school festival and the love triangle between Raku, Chitoge, and Onodera.
In the beginning of the episode, Raku’s class has come in last place at the festival and everyone is feeling down. However, Raku is feeling particularly conflicted as he thinks about the girls he has feelings for. He knows he likes both Chitoge and Onodera, but he doesn’t know what to do about it. Meanwhile, Chitoge is trying to figure out why she’s feeling so upset after the festival and Onodera is trying to find the best way to express her feelings to Raku.
As the episode progresses, Raku and Chitoge run into each other on their way home from school. Chitoge is clearly upset and Raku tries to comfort her, causing her to realize that she actually has feelings for him. However, before she can tell him, they are interrupted by a group of thugs who try to mug them. Raku is able to fend them off, and Chitoge is impressed with his bravery.
Later that night, Raku receives a phone call from Onodera. She’s nervous and unsure of herself, but Raku is patient and kind, letting her know that he’ll always treasure their friendship regardless of how she feels about him. Onodera finally tells him that she has feelings for him, but before Raku can respond, his phone dies.
Frustrated, Raku heads out into the night to clear his head. He runs into Chitoge once again, and they head to a nearby park where they talk about their feelings for each other. Raku admits that he likes both Chitoge and Onodera, but he’s not sure what to do about it. Chitoge tells him that she knows how he feels, as she also has conflicting emotions. They agree to keep their conversation between themselves for the time being.
The next day at school, Raku is feeling even more conflicted than before. He knows he needs to make a decision, but he’s afraid of hurting one of the girls. He goes to talk to his father for advice, but his father is as unhelpful as ever. However, he does remind Raku of a promise he made when he was a child – to find the girl that he made a promise to and marry her.
Raku starts to remember the girl he made the promise to, and he realizes that it's actually Onodera. He heads to her workplace to talk to her, but he’s too late – she’s already left for the day. However, he finds a note that she left for him, saying that she needs to talk to him in person.
At the end of the episode, Raku’s voiceover explains that he’s still not sure what to do, but he knows that he needs to be true to his own feelings. The episode ends with him standing in the park, thinking about the two girls that he cares for.
Overall, After School is a satisfying conclusion to the first season of Nisekoi. It’s a poignant episode that emphasizes the emotional journey that the characters have been on throughout the season. While there isn’t much in the way of action or comedy in this episode, it’s a great showcase for the series’ heartfelt romance and strong character development. The episode sets the stage for the second season of the show, which promises even more drama and romance to come.
