In episode 10 of Nisekoi season 1, titled "Lottery," the story continues to revolve around the main character Raku Ichijou, a high school student who is stuck in a fake relationship with Chitoge Kirisaki, the daughter of a powerful yakuza boss. Raku's feelings for his childhood friend, Onodera Kosaki, continue to grow stronger, but he is unable to express them due to his commitment to Chitoge.
The episode starts with Raku and his friends playing a game of lottery where the winner gets to make three wishes, which will be granted by the others. Raku initially loses the game, but he is given a second chance to play and ends up winning. However, he is unable to think of any wishes as he is preoccupied with his feelings for Onodera.
Meanwhile, at school, Chitoge's bodyguards inform her that they have found a potential threat to her safety. Chitoge is advised to stay away from Raku, but she is unable to do so, and ends up having lunch with him. During lunch, Chitoge overhears Raku talking about his feelings for someone, which increases her insecurity about their fake relationship.
Later, Raku decides to use his wishes to help his friends. He first grants a wish to his friend Shuu, who wants to borrow his expensive fountain pen but is too afraid to ask. Raku next grants a wish to Ruri, who wants to go on a date with her crush, Shuu. Finally, Raku grants a wish to Chitoge, who wants to go on a date with him. However, during the date, Chitoge becomes increasingly jealous and suspicious of Raku's feelings for Onodera.
Towards the end of the episode, Raku goes to Onodera's house to return a book she had lent him. However, he finds her crying and learns that she has failed her exams. Raku comforts her and encourages her to retake the exams, telling her that she is not alone. Onodera is touched by Raku's kindness and begins to see him in a new light, but Raku remains unaware of his impact on her.
