Night Court Season 1 Episode 3: Just Tuesday

In this episode of Night Court, viewers meet Harry T. Stone, the newly appointed judge at the Manhattan Municipal Court. Harry is already struggling to adjust to his new job, but things get even more complicated when the courtroom is thrown into chaos by a series of bizarre cases.

First up is a man who is suing his neighbor for playing his stereo too loudly. As Harry tries to maintain order in the courtroom, the two neighbors argue back and forth, with absurd and increasingly ridiculous accusations flying between them. It quickly becomes obvious that these two neighbors have a long-standing feud that shows no sign of ending anytime soon.

Next on the docket is a man who is suing a fortune teller for fraud. The man claims that the fortune teller promised him that he would soon come into a great deal of money, and convinced him to hand over his life savings as a down payment on some sort of nonexistent investment. As Harry tries to sort out the truth in this case, it becomes clear that the fortune teller is not quite what she seems.

Finally, things take a turn for the bizarre when a man walks into the courtroom claiming to be a superhero. The man is dressed in full superhero regalia, complete with cape and mask, and insists that he has come to save the world. Despite Harry's attempts to get the man to leave the courtroom, the self-proclaimed superhero refuses to budge, and the other court patrons watch in disbelief as the situation spirals out of control.

As the night wears on, Harry struggles to maintain control over the various cases that come before him. But despite the chaos and absurdity, he manages to keep a level head and dispense justice as best he can. And by the end of the episode, viewers are left with the impression that Harry is exactly the sort of judge that New York City needs.
