Night after Night is an American late-night talk show that aired on MBC America between 1990 to 1992 hosted by Allan Havey. The show was designed to be a comedic take on traditional late-night shows, and as such, it featured a great deal of humor, sketches, and bizarre guest appearances.

The show was generally structured, with Havey opening the show with a monologue that typically poked fun at the day's news, media, and entertainment. After the monologue, guests were introduced, which ranged from comedians, actors, and musicians to politicians, athletes, and authors.

Each guest had an individual segment, and some of them involved comedy sketches involving Havey and other cast members. Most of the segments were relaxed and humorous, featuring impromptu conversations that allowed guests to share insights on their careers, ideas or personal stories. The sketches were often ridiculous and silly, sometimes indescribable, but delivered the laughs in their own right.

One of the standout segments on the show was called 'Audience Communications.' During this part of the show, audience members were allowed to shout out questions or comments to the host or guests, providing spontaneous comedy and unpredictability that frequently led to hilarious outcomes.

Another segment worth mentioning was called "The Musician's Corner" which showcased performances from all sorts of genres like rock, jazz, rap, and pop. As the name suggests, everyone from famous musicians to upcoming artists appeared and performed hit songs and new upcoming releases. These segments frequently involved jamming sessions between Havey and the featured musicians.

Night After Night's other notable feature was its cast of regulars, including havey himself, who often incorporated themselves into various sketches and segments. The regular cast also featured comedic actors such as Edie McClurg and Bob Odenkirk.

Night After Night's run came to a close after only two years, but its format was unique in many ways. It stood apart from the crowded late-night landscape with its great, cutting-edge humor and the creative character-driven sketches. Though it lasted for only two years, it had an impact that was bigger than one might imagine.

In summary, Night After Night was a late-night talk show that offered a lighthearted and comical take on traditional talk shows. It was structured with a great monologue, sketches, bizarre guest appearance, audience participation, and an excellent cast with creative and unpredictable characters. Allan Havey was a charismatic host who knew how to put his guest at ease and provide an entertaining show. Although it didn't have a lengthy run, Night After Night set a precedent for innovative and engaging talk show formats that continue to inspire other late-night hosts.
