Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn season 1 episode 6, titled "Remote Control Control," follows the four Harper siblings as they attempt to gain control of their living room. With four kids and only one television remote, tensions rise as the siblings argue over what to watch and who gets to hold the prized possession.
Dawn, the youngest Harper, comes up with the idea to create a remote control schedule for each sibling to take turns using the remote. However, the plan quickly backfires when the siblings begin to manipulate the schedule to their advantage. Big brother Nicky takes control of the remote and uses it to watch his favorite sports game, leaving his siblings annoyed and frustrated.
As a result, the siblings decide to have a remote control war where they each create their own makeshift remotes using household items. The competition heats up as they battle it out to see who can control the television the longest. However, the game takes a turn when the siblings accidentally break the television and their parents refuse to buy a new one until they learn to share.
In an effort to remedy the situation, the siblings turn to their neighbor, a tech-savvy kid who creates a high-tech universal remote that can control anything. They soon realize that the remote may be too powerful for their own good, as they accidentally turn off the electricity in the entire neighborhood.
In the end, the siblings learn the importance of sharing and compromise. They come up with a new system where each sibling has designated "TV time" where they get to choose what to watch. With a new understanding of cooperation, the Harper siblings finally make peace with the remote control.
