Nick Swardson's Pretend Time is a comedy sketch television show that premiered on Comedy Central in 2010. Each episode features a series of comedic sketches with a different theme or topic. Episode 2 of season 1 is titled "The Leather Swingset with the Monkey and the Gun."
The episode begins with a sketch that takes place in a park where a child is on a leather swing set while a monkey with a gun watches him. The monkey is approached by a man who tries to buy the gun off of him, but the monkey refuses and points the gun at the man. The sketch ends with the monkey shooting the man and then having a conversation with another monkey who arrives on the scene, discussing whether or not they should eat the man's body.
The second sketch features a group of friends who are out to dinner. One of the friends, played by Nick Swardson, is disappointed in the food and decides to eat his napkin instead. His friends start to follow suit and soon the entire table is eating their napkins. They then proceed to eat other inedible objects such as silverware, glasses, and even the table itself.
The third sketch takes place in a high school science classroom where the students are assigned a group project. One group, made up of the popular kids, decides to create a time machine and travel back to medieval times. The group is ridiculed by the other students, but as it turns out, their time machine actually works and they end up in medieval times. However, they quickly realize that they are not prepared for the dangers and hardships of that era.
In the fourth sketch, Nick Swardson plays a man who is trying to break up with his girlfriend, but every time he tries, she interrupts him with a sexy dance. Eventually, he gives up trying to break up with her and joins in on the dance.
The fifth sketch takes place in a courtroom where a woman is on trial for murder. However, the entire trial is derailed by the judge's obsession with the defendant's cleavage. The judge repeatedly asks the woman to show him her breasts and eventually dismisses the case altogether.
The final sketch features a group of coworkers who are playing a game of "Would You Rather?" One of the questions involves choosing between having a permanent unibrow or having a third nipple. The group is split on their answers, but Nick Swardson's character reveals that he has both already.
Overall, "The Leather Swingset with the Monkey and the Gun" is a hilarious episode of Nick Swardson's Pretend Time. The sketches range from absurd to silly to downright outrageous, and each one is sure to make you laugh. If you're looking for a good comedy sketch show, this is definitely one to check out.
