In NewsRadio season 3 episode 18, titled "Twins", the WNYX staff prepares for their annual charity softball game against their competitors from WNYC. However, when Bill and Catherine's ultrasound reveals that they're expecting twins, Bill becomes anxious about his impending fatherhood and begins to act erratically. Meanwhile, Dave tries to figure out a way to get Jimmy to let him play in the big game, despite his lack of athletic ability.
As the rest of the staff practices for the game, Bill's behavior becomes increasingly bizarre, culminating in an incident in which he tries to baptize Dave in a nearby fountain. Dave eventually convinces him to seek counseling from the station's psychologist, Dr. Ledbetter.
Meanwhile, Jimmy agrees to let Dave play in the game on the condition that he can hit a home run off of one of WNYC's star pitchers. Dave begins training with Joe, the station's homeless janitor and secret softball ace, in order to improve his batting skills.
On the day of the game, tensions run high as the WNYX staff faces off against their rivals. Bill arrives just in time to see Dave hit a home run, redeeming himself in Jimmy's eyes and earning the respect of his coworkers. The episode ends with Bill and Catherine happily discussing their future as parents of twins.
