In the sixth episode of New York Undercover's first season, titled "After Shakespeare," Detectives J.C. Williams and Eddie Torres investigate the murder of a young Shakespearean actor, Derek Frye. Derek's death was initially believed to be part of a botched robbery attempt, but the detectives quickly uncover evidence that suggests otherwise.
As J.C. and Eddie delve deeper into the case, they discover that Derek had been involved in a heated love triangle with two of his fellow actors, Megan and Daniel. Megan and Daniel both deny any involvement in Derek's murder, but J.C. and Eddie remain suspicious.
Meanwhile, Nina and Lt. Cooper investigate a separate case involving a drug dealer named Johnny V. Johnny is reluctant to cooperate with the police, but Nina uses her street smarts to gain his trust and convince him to reveal the location of his stash. Nina's efforts pay off, and Johnny is brought to justice.
Back to the main case, J.C. and Eddie follow a lead that takes them to a seedy strip club, where they encounter a dangerous gang known as the Pagnotti brothers. The Pagnottis are known for their violent tactics and extensive drug network, and J.C. and Eddie suspect that they may have played a role in Derek's murder.
As the detectives continue to gather evidence, they uncover a shocking link between Derek's murder and the Pagnottis. They also find evidence that points to one of Derek's co-stars as the true culprit.
In the end, J.C. and Eddie manage to solve the case and bring Derek's killer to justice. They also learn a valuable lesson about the dangers of jealousy and the dark side of the entertainment industry.
