Ep 2. Final Curtain

In "New Tricks" season 5 episode 2, "Final Curtain," the team of retired detectives is investigating the death of famous actor Richard Gibson. The actor's body is found in his dressing room by his understudy, and the initial investigation reveals no signs of foul play. However, the team is called in to investigate when it is discovered that Gibson was suffering from a debilitating illness at the time of his death, leading them to suspect that a mercy killing may have occurred.

As the team dives deeper into Gibson's life and career, they uncover a complex web of relationships, rivalries and secrets that could potentially point them to a killer. Through interviews with Gibson's friends, family and colleagues, they learn that the actor was far from the affable, charming figure that he presented to the public. As they follow the trail of clues, they encounter a host of eccentric characters, including Gibson's former costars, an obsessed fan and a bitter ex-girlfriend.

However, the investigation takes a personal turn for the team when they discover that one of their own may have a connection to the case. As they work to unravel the truth, tensions rise within the team as they confront their own past and present demons.
