Ep 6. The Stockwell Strangler

A young woman is found strangled in her apartment in the Stockwell area of London. The detectives of New Scotland Yard are called in to investigate the murder, which bears similarities to a series of unsolved murders in the area. The victim, Jennifer Matthews, was a recent college graduate and was well-liked by those who knew her. The detectives begin by interviewing Jennifer's family and friends, but they don't find any leads.

The investigation leads the detectives to the seedy underbelly of the city, where a known sex trafficker, Vasily Sokolov, is suspected to be involved in the murders. But when they confront Sokolov, they find that he's been in hiding and hasn't had any contact with anyone in the area for weeks. The detectives begin to realize that they are dealing with a serial killer who is very good at covering his tracks.

As the investigation continues, the detectives start to piece together a profile of the killer. They believe that he is likely someone who works in the area, and that he may have a fascination with strangling his victims. They start looking for anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the murder, and eventually, they get a breakthrough.

One of the detectives, Detective Mary Harper, has been working on the case from the beginning. She has become obsessed with the idea of catching the killer, and has been working around the clock to try to find him. One day, while she's eating lunch in a diner near the scene of the crime, she overhears a conversation between two men that catches her attention. She can't quite hear what they're saying, but she's sure that they're talking about the murder. She follows the men out of the diner and tails them to a nearby construction site, where she watches them go into a trailer.

Detective Harper calls for backup, and a team of detectives arrive at the construction site to search for the men. They find the trailer where the men had gone, and inside, they find evidence linking the men to the murder. The detectives are able to arrest the men and bring them back to the station for questioning.

The detectives soon discover that the men are part of a group of construction workers who had been working in the area around the time of the murder. They had been drinking heavily on the night of the murder, and had stumbled upon Jennifer's apartment by chance. When they found her inside, they had raped and strangled her.

The detectives are able to gather enough evidence to convict the men of murder, but Detective Harper can't shake the feeling that there's more to the case than what they've been able to uncover. She becomes convinced that there may be other similar murders in the area, and she's determined to find them.

The episode ends with Detective Harper returning to the scene of the crime, where she begins to dig deeper into the case. She knows that there's more to uncover, and she's determined to find the truth, no matter what it takes.
