Ep 4. Blackfriars

Richard Mayhew grows quite impatient to return to his normal life. He starts to wonder whether he should really remain in this alternate world that he has somehow stumbled upon. This episode sees him try to reconcile with his old life, but instead, he begins to question everything he thought he knew. The episode begins with Richard's boss, Mr. Stockton, looking for him. He seems to have known all along that Richard was missing, but now that he has returned, he seems more surprised than Richard himself. Stockton is also quite irritated that Richard has missed some very important meetings.

At the same time, Richard is trying to find a way to get away from his new life. He is quite fed up with having to deal with all sorts of dangers and difficulties as he tries to navigate this unknown world. However, as he tries to make his way back into the world he knows, he is confronted by a strange man who seems to know a lot about him. This man, named Blackfriars, insists that Richard must remain in his current life, and he sets out to prove this to Richard.

As Richard follows Blackfriars, he discovers that the stranger has the power to control people through their minds. Richard must face some incredibly frightening scenarios as he tries to evade Blackfriars and find his way back home. Along the way, he runs into various other characters who have also been drawn into this alternate world. Among them is Islington, who has been helping Richard in his attempts to escape the alternate world.

Richard eventually realizes that he will have to face his fears and confront Blackfriars himself if he wants to emerge from this dark and dangerous world. He does so, and he discovers that Blackfriars is far more powerful than he ever imagined. However, armed with newfound clarity and courage, Richard is finally able to enter into battle with Blackfriars, and he just might be able to come out on top.

In Neverwhere Season 1 Episode 4: Blackfriars, Richard's journey takes a dark and dangerous turn. As he tries to escape the alternate world he has been drawn into, he is faced with an incredibly powerful foe who seems intent on keeping him trapped there forever.
