After a strong first season, Necessary Roughness returns for its second season with an all-new episode titled "To Swerve and Protect." The show follows the life of Dr. Dani Santino, a therapist who is hired by a fictional professional football team to work with their players off the field.
In this episode, Dr. Dani is tasked with helping a star player who is in danger of losing his job. All-Star wide receiver Terrence "TK" King has been underperforming lately, and team owner Marshall Pittman thinks it's because of TK's recent DUI arrest. Pittman wants TK to attend rehab, but TK refuses.
Dr. Dani's job is to help TK get back on track and save his career. She suggests that they try something different from traditional therapy, and instead, they go out to have some fun. Dr. Dani takes TK to the batting cages, and they bond over their shared love of sports.
Meanwhile, Dr. Dani's daughter, Lindsay, starts high school and begins to face some of the typical teenage drama. She is struggling to make friends and feeling left out of the social scene. Dr. Dani tries to help her daughter by inviting some of Lindsay's classmates over for a party.
Elsewhere in the episode, a new character is introduced: Connor McClane, a wealthy and powerful businessman who is interested in investing in the football team. He's also interested in Dr. Dani, and it's clear that he's trying to pursue her romantically.
Overall, "To Swerve and Protect" is a fun and engaging episode that sets the stage for the rest of the season. It's refreshing to see Dr. Dani take a different approach to therapy, and her bond with TK is heartwarming. The introduction of a new character promises to keep things interesting, and Lindsay's subplot adds an element of relatability for viewers. Fans of the show are sure to be pleased with this episode and looking forward to what's to come.
