In NCIS season 16 episode 10, titled "What Child is This?", the NCIS team is called to investigate the murder of a Navy lieutenant and his wife, who were killed in their own home. The couple's young daughter, who was present at the time of the murder, is missing, and the team races against time to find her before it's too late.
As the investigation unfolds, the team quickly realize that the case is much more complicated than they initially thought. They discover that the couple was targeted because they were involved in a classified research project, and that the attackers were after sensitive information. This puts the team on high alert, as they realize that they too could be in danger.
Meanwhile, Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) is struggling with some personal demons of his own. He's still grieving the loss of his friend, and former colleague, Mike Franks, and he's finding it difficult to move on. However, he's forced to put his own feelings aside in order to focus on the case at hand.
As the team continues to investigate, they're led down a dangerous path that ultimately puts their own lives in jeopardy. They work tirelessly to unravel the complicated case, putting their skills to the test in order to save the missing girl and bring her kidnappers to justice.
Throughout the episode, viewers are also given a glimpse into the personal lives of some of the characters, including Torres (played by Wilmer Valderrama) and Bishop (played by Emily Wickersham), who share a heartwarming moment at the end of the episode.
Overall, "What Child is This?" is a thrilling and intense episode that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. With a complex case and personal struggles for some of the characters, this episode is a great example of why NCIS continues to be one of the most popular crime dramas on television.
