In the season 10 premiere of NCIS: Los Angeles, the team is tasked with tracking down a ruthless cartel boss who is responsible for the deaths of several DEA agents. When the team discovers that the cartel is planning a major drug trafficking operation in Mexico, they head south of the border to try and stop it.
The episode opens with a tense scene in which DEA agents are ambushed by members of the cartel. The team quickly realizes that the cartel is using a new tactic to evade law enforcement – they are using tunnels to transport drugs across the border. As the team investigates, they learn that the cartel boss, Alex Montel, is the mastermind behind the operation.
To get close to Montel, the team enlists the help of a former CIA agent named Joelle Taylor. Joelle is an old flame of agent G. Callen's, but their relationship ended badly years ago. Despite their complicated history, Joelle agrees to help the team infiltrate the cartel.
As the team goes deeper into the operation, they discover that Montel is planning an attack on a rival cartel that could result in hundreds of innocent deaths. The team races against time to stop the attack before it's too late, but their mission becomes even more difficult when they learn that there is a mole within their own organization.
Throughout the episode, the tension is high as the team navigates the dangerous world of Mexican drug cartels. There are several intense action scenes, including a chase through narrow tunnels and a shootout in a crowded marketplace. The dynamic between the team members remains strong, with each character having a chance to shine.
In addition to the main storyline, there are several smaller subplots that add depth to the episode. We see Callen grappling with his complicated feelings towards Joelle, and we learn more about agent Kensi Blye's relationship with her fiancé, Marty Deeks.
Overall, "To Live and Die in Mexico" is a thrilling start to the tenth season of NCIS: Los Angeles. The episode is action-packed and full of suspense, with a strong performance from the entire cast. As always, the show strikes a balance between intense drama and lighter moments of camaraderie between the characters. Fans of the show are sure to be pleased with this exciting season premiere.
