Naoki Urasawa's Monster is a psychological thriller anime series that revolves around the story of a young doctor named Kenzo Tenma. The show, which is available on Starz, is based on the manga series of the same name by Naoki Urasawa. The series is set in Germany and follows the story of Kenzo Tenma, a talented young neurosurgeon who works at a prestigious hospital in Düsseldorf. After saving the life of a young boy, Tenma's life takes a dark turn as he is forced to confront the consequences of his actions.

The story begins with a seemingly innocent surgery that Tenma performs on a young boy named Johan. Johan is the twin brother of Anna Liebert, a young girl who has been placed under the care of a mysterious organization called the Red Rose Mansion. After the surgery, Johan's life is saved, and Tenma is hailed as a hero. However, as he investigates further into Johan's case, Tenma begins to realize that there is something sinister at play.

As the story progresses, Tenma delves deeper into the mystery surrounding Johan and Anna. He discovers that Johan is a psychopath and that he is responsible for a series of brutal murders. Johan has been manipulating those around him for years, using his charisma and intelligence to get what he wants. As Tenma tries to uncover the truth behind Johan's actions, he is pursued by the police, who believe that he is responsible for the murders.

The show is an intense and gripping psychological thriller that explores themes of morality and redemption. It raises questions about the nature of good and evil and the lengths that people will go to in order to achieve their goals. The characters in the show are complex and well-developed, adding depth and nuance to the storyline.

Kenzo Tenma is a fascinating character, driven by his desire to do what is right. Despite the risks to himself and those around him, he is determined to uncover the truth about Johan's actions. His journey is fraught with danger and uncertainty, but he never wavers in his commitment to the truth.

Johan is equally fascinating, a cunning and manipulative villain who is always several steps ahead of those around him. His motivations are murky, and his actions are often inexplicable, making him all the more terrifying.

The supporting cast of the show is also strong, with memorable characters such as Inspector Lunge, who is tasked with capturing Tenma, and Eva Heinemann, the daughter of the hospital director who becomes embroiled in the conspiracy surrounding Johan.

The animation in the show is excellent, with realistic character designs and beautifully rendered backgrounds. The score is also noteworthy, with a haunting and evocative soundtrack that heightens the tension and drama of the story.

Overall, Naoki Urasawa's Monster is a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers. Its complex characters, intricate plot, and masterful storytelling make it one of the most compelling anime series of all time.
