During the 23rd episode of season 7 of MythBusters, titled "Mini Myth Mayhem," hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman tackled three mini myths in one hour-long episode.
The first mini myth explored whether or not a hammer could be thrown with enough force to break a brick wall. Adam and Jamie used a specially designed hammer throwing machine to test the theory, using a wall made of concrete brick and two different types of hammers. The second mini myth tackled the age-old question of whether or not a human could outrun a speeding bullet. For this test, Adam and Jamie built a gun that could fire bullets at a rate of 1,200 feet per second, and then used a high-speed camera to track the trajectory of both bullet and human.
Finally, the third and final mini myth explored whether or not a person could learn to run on water. This myth had intrigued the hosts for years, and they had finally come up with a way to test it. To do so, Adam and Jamie devised a machine that created a surface of water that was kept in motion by two powerful fans. They then attempted to determine the speed at which a person would have to run in order to stay on top of the water.
Throughout the episode, Adam and Jamie utilized their trademark scientific methods to test each myth, using a combination of observation and experimentation to gather data. They also used a variety of specialized equipment, including high-speed cameras, slow-motion video, and computer simulations, to help them understand the physics and mechanics behind each myth.
As always, the hosts remained committed to safety throughout the episode, taking precautions such as wearing protective gear and using specially designed machines and equipment to minimize the risk of injury. At the same time, they remained committed to entertaining their audience, injecting humor and playful banter into their discussions and experiments.
Overall, "Mini Myth Mayhem" offered fans of MythBusters an engaging and entertaining episode that showcased Adam and Jamie's scientific curiosity and boundless energy as they explored three fascinating mini myths.
