In season 10 episode 5 of MythBusters, titled "Torpedo Tastic," the team takes on four new myths to determine whether they're true or just urban legends.
The first myth involves a scene from the movie "Jaws" where a scuba tank is shot and explodes, killing a shark. The MythBusters test if it's possible to use a scuba tank to build an underwater bomb capable of killing anything. They build a rig with a scuba tank and detonator and set it off underwater with a dummy shark.
The second myth is about a scene from "The Dark Knight" where a semi-truck flips over after being hit by a rocket. The team tests if rockets can actually flip a semi-truck and they set up a rig to aim rockets at a truck and see how it reacts.
The third myth is about a Rube Goldberg machine made of household items that can light a birthday cake. The MythBusters take on this challenge and attempt to create a working machine using common household items.
The final myth is about whether a torpedo can be used to launch a car across a body of water. The MythBusters build a giant ramp and rig up a torpdeo to try and launch a car across a lake.
Throughout the episode, the MythBusters use their signature combination of experimentation and scientific analysis to determine if these myths hold any water or if they're simply tall tales. With plenty of action and suspense, "Torpedo Tastic" is a must-see episode for fans of the show and anyone who loves a good myth-busting challenge.
