Located in the Philippines, Blood Island is known to be cursed and haunted by the ghosts of Japanese soldiers from World War II. In this episode of Mysteries of the Abandoned, the team travels to the island to investigate the remnants of a secret Japanese underground facility that was used during the war.
The episode starts with the team arriving on the island via a small boat. They quickly learn that the island is uninhabited and is only visited by fishermen and tourists. The team sets out to explore the underground tunnels that were used by the Japanese military during the war. The tunnels were built by forced labor and were used for a variety of things, including storing ammunition and supplies, as well as a secret laboratory for biological warfare experiments.
The team faces numerous challenges in the tunnels, including dealing with the humidity, navigating through the dark, and avoiding dangerous wildlife. They also discover evidence of the horrible experiments performed by the Japanese, including human remains, jars filled with biological samples, and handwritten notes in Japanese detailing the experiments. The team is horrified by what they find and realizes the true horror of what happened on the island.
Outside of the tunnels, the team explores the abandoned military structures and bunkers that were built on the island. They find evidence of battle, including bullet holes in the walls and abandoned military equipment. They also explore a large abandoned hospital that was built by the Japanese. The hospital was used to treat injured soldiers and conduct experiments on prisoners of war. The team finds old medical equipment and evidence of experiments, including a room with a table and restraints.
As the team continues to explore the island, they begin to experience strange occurrences and unexplainable incidents. They hear strange noises and see shadows moving in the darkness. They also come across strange symbols and markings that suggest that the island may be cursed. The team starts to feel uneasy and begins to question whether they should continue their investigation.
In the end, the team uncovers the tragic and horrific truth about what happened on Blood Island during World War II. They are left with a greater understanding of the atrocities that occurred and the ghosts that still haunt the island to this day. Mysteries of the Abandoned season 7 episode 4, Hell on Blood Island, is a chilling and unsettling exploration of a dark and untold chapter of history.
