In season 2, episode 8 of My Name is Earl titled "Robbed a Stoner Blind," Earl and Randy come across a stoner named Wally in their pursuit of completing Earl's list. Wally tells them a story about how his apartment was broken into and all of his belongings were stolen, including his prized possession – a big screen TV. Wally believes that his neighbor, Frank, is the culprit. Earl decides that it's time to help out Wally and cross "Robbed a Stoner" off his list.
Earl and Randy plan a stakeout to catch Frank in the act. While on stakeout, they see him leave his apartment with a big screen TV. Believing that they've caught Frank in the act, they attempt to confront him, but he trips and falls before they can. As they help Frank up, they realize that he was actually just moving out and that the TV he was carrying belonged to him. Earl and Randy feel guilty for wrongly accusing Frank and decide to help him move out.
As they help Frank move out, they come across another neighbor, Mr. Turtle. Mr. Turtle's apartment is filled with expensive electronics and he tells Earl and Randy that he won big at the casino. Earl suspects that Mr. Turtle may have actually robbed Wally's apartment instead of Frank. Earl, Randy, and Frank devise a plan to catch Mr. Turtle in the act.
They set up a camera in Wally's apartment and wait for Mr. Turtle to strike. Sure enough, Mr. Turtle breaks into Wally's apartment and steals all of his belongings. Earl, Randy, and Frank confront Mr. Turtle and he admits to the burglary. He explains that he has a gambling problem and needed the money to pay off his debts. Earl decides to take Mr. Turtle to his gambling anonymous meeting to try and help him overcome his addiction.
The episode ends with Earl realizing that he didn't actually cross "Robbed a Stoner" off his list, but he did help out a couple of good guys and catch a bad guy in the process.
