The show features a talented ensemble cast, including Hee-soon Park, Ahn Bo-Hyun, and Han So-hee, who bring to life the gripping story of a young woman's quest for revenge. The plot of My Name follows Yoon Ji-woo (played by Han So-hee), a young girl who joins a criminal gang to avenge her father's death. Her father, who was a police officer, was killed by a corrupt police officer whose son became the chief of the police station where Yoon Ji-woo's father worked. To infiltrate the gang, Yoon Ji-woo changes her name to Kim Ji-yong and gains their trust by proving her loyalty and skill.
As the show progresses, Yoon Ji-woo/Kim Ji-yong becomes embroiled in the gang's operations and starts to uncover more about the corrupt police officer's family and their nefarious activities. Along the way, she gets close to Choi Mu-jin (played by Ahn Bo-Hyun), who is the right-hand man of the gang's leader, Jang Tae-joo (played by Hee-soon Park).
The series features a lot of action sequences and intense drama as Yoon Ji-woo/Kim Ji-yong tries to maintain her cover while also pursuing her vengeful mission. The show explores themes of corruption, loyalty, and power struggles, as well as the lengths people will go to protect their own interests.
One of the standout aspects of My Name is the strong performances from the entire cast. Han So-hee is particularly impressive as the lead, bringing depth and nuance to her portrayal of a young woman caught up in a dangerous world. She is able to convey a range of emotions, from vulnerability to steely determination, all while maintaining the facade of a loyal gang member.
Ahn Bo-Hyun also delivers a compelling performance as Choi Mu-jin, a man with his own complicated past and motivations. He portrays the character's conflicted loyalties and growing attachment to Yoon Ji-woo/Kim Ji-yong with authenticity, making for some very emotional scenes.
The show also benefits from its stylish direction and cinematography, which help to bring the gritty world of the criminal underworld to life. The action sequences are well choreographed and thrilling to watch, while the quieter moments are given room to breathe and develop.
