The First Record is the first episode of the popular South Korean drama, My Love From Another Star. The episode starts with a mysterious man named Do Min-joon landing on Earth in the Joseon Dynasty era, over 400 years ago. He is a humanoid alien who has been stranded on Earth due to an accident and has since been trying to find a way to return to his home planet. Throughout the years, Do Min-joon has witnessed the history of Korea unravel before his eyes and has seen a lot of things that humans cannot fathom.

The episode then cuts to the present, where Do Min-joon is working as a university professor of Korean history. He is well-respected by his colleagues and students. However, he is emotionless, cold, and distant to everyone. Do Min-joon's life takes a turn when he meets Cheon Song-yi, a famous actress whom he feels like he has seen before. As the episode progresses, we see how Cheon Song-yi's life has been a rollercoaster ride, with many ups and downs. She is controversial, spontaneous, and has a strong personality, which is in contrast to Do Min-joon's reclusive, robotic tendencies.

The episode shows how Cheon Song-yi is constantly in the spotlight, and many of her actions are scrutinized by the media and her fans. She also gets into a brief altercation with her ex-boyfriend, which makes her a target of negative attention. Do Min-joon is a witness to all this, and it becomes evident that he has feelings for her, though he is reluctant to show them.

The episode also introduces us to Lee Hwi-kyung, Cheon Song-yi's childhood friend, who has a crush on her and is her biggest fan. He also tries to protect her from the harsh realities of the entertainment industry. Do Min-joon becomes acquainted with him and sees how much he cares for Cheon Song-yi, which makes Do Min-joon even more guarded about his feelings for her.

As the episode comes to a close, it becomes apparent that Cheon Song-yi and Do Min-joon have some sort of history that binds them together. However, it is not clear what this history is, and the audience is left wondering what the connection between these two characters is. The episode ends with Cheon Song-yi reuniting with Do Min-joon, and he tells her that she is the first person he has ever opened up to.

The First Record sets up the premise of My Love From Another Star and introduces us to the two main characters. The episode does a great job of showcasing the stark contrast between Cheon Song-yi's and Do Min-joon's personalities and how they complement each other. The episode also gives us a glimpse into the celebrity culture in South Korea and how it affects public figures. Overall, The First Record is a great starter episode that sets the tone for the rest of the series and leaves the audience wanting more.
